BREAKING: Ousmane Kromah Ruled Out for the Season After Injury Against Miami

Florida State running back Ousmane Kromah will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a left ankle injury against Miami on Saturday night.
The season-ending injury is a major blow to Florida State’s offense, taking away its leading rusher and one of its most dependable playmakers.
Kromah Injured Late in the First Half
Kromah suffered the injury on a run that moved Florida State near Miami’s goal line late in the second quarter. He attempted to leave the field, showing his toughness by hobbling across part of it before going to the ground, where medical personnel attended to him.
His left leg was placed in an air cast, and teammates gathered around him before he was carted off the field.
Kromah finished with 44 rushing yards on 14 carries in the Seminoles’ eventual 43–35 double-overtime loss.
A Productive Season Cut Short
Kromah finishes his sophomore season with 609 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 114 carries, averaging 5.3 yards per attempt.
His physical running style and ability to fight through contact made him an important part of Florida State’s offense. Even when the Seminoles struggled to find consistency, Kromah provided a player they could turn to in the backfield.
Losing him leaves Florida State with a significant hole to fill for the remainder of the season.
Who Steps Up Next?
Tre Wisner and freshman Amari Thomas are among the running backs who could receive expanded opportunities in Kromah’s absence.
Replacing his production will also require help from the offensive line and the passing game. Florida State needs to establish enough balance to avoid putting too much pressure on Wisner and Thomas.
For the Seminoles, the challenge now is finding a way forward without their leading rusher and most physical player.
